The legislation that would allow doctors to prescribe life-ending medication to terminally ill patients was supported by a majority of members in the California State Assembly and is now heading to the State Senate, where it is expected to pass.

If the State Senate votes in favor of the bill, it will head to Gov. Jerry Brown who has not indicated whether he plans to sign the bill into law.
