In a piece by Bradley J. Fikes, Los Angeles Times, San Diego biomedical company, Imprimis Pharmaceuticals will be introducing a competitor medication for treating AIDS and cancer for $1 a capsule.
This is in direct response to a nationwide outrage, when Martin Shkreli acquired the rights to Draraprim, a brand name formulation of a generic drug pyrimethamine and raised the price from $13.50 a capsule to $750 – 5000% price increase.
