Senator Dianne Feinstein is up for re-election next year and Berkeley IGS conducted a poll that asked what voters thought about Senator Feinstein running again in 2018. The Sacramento Bee states:

Voters were narrowly split over whether Feinstein should run for re-election, with 52 percent saying no and 48 percent saying a 2018 run would be a “good thing” for California… When reminded that Feinstein will be 84 next year, the split widens, with 62 percent of voters suggesting she shouldn’t run.

Senator Feinstein has been in office since first being elected to the United States Senate in 1992. Senator Feinstein will be 84 years old next year and had a pacemaker installed earlier this year. She has yet to come out and say if she will run next year for re-election, but many are wondering if she is even considering running for re-election. If she does run for re-election and wins next year, her term will take her into her 90s. Hopefully, she makes a decision soon about her political plans for next year.
