A radio showdown Thursday between Assemblyman Tim Donnelly and Neel Kashkari, the top two GOP challengers to Gov. Jerry Brown in the June 3 primary, was short on substance but long on entertainment.
The Anaheim debate is the only scheduled one-on-one confrontation between the pair and was hosted by John Kobylt and Ken Chiampou, a conservative Southern California radio team. With a raucous, catcalling crowd, the event was nothing like the staid, carefully choreographed and mostly neutral debates that voters are familiar with.
