This is disturbing and frightening. In San Francisco’s Richmond District, a suspect has been drilling holes into dozens of garage doors to break into homes. 

Residents are on high alert, with some filing police reports and others forming neighborhood watch groups. 

According to KTVU, Mark Dietrich, a neighborhood watch captain, explained that the thief uses a wire to open the garages through small holes. 

Surveillance footage shows the suspect, who carries a hunting knife, casing homes. 

Flyers with the suspect’s photo have been posted to warn neighbors. Residents described feeling vulnerable and unsafe due to this crime trend.
