The Sacramento Bee has video of the incident and here is their description:

“Assemblyman Roger Hernández ordered sergeants to remove the microphone of the top Republican on the Assembly labor panel Wednesday, prompting the Assembly GOP to accuse Hernández of “bullying tactics” and forcing Assembly Speaker Toni Atkins, D-San Diego, to get involved.”

And today Assemblyman Matthew Harper responds to this “bullying tactic” by Hernandez:

“What I wasn’t prepared for were the ridiculous actions of committee Chairman Roger Hernández to stop opposing points of view from being expressed.

“During the hearing, Hernández, D-Baldwin Park, abruptly cut off a witness testifying in midsentence. Then he moved to quickly call for a vote on the bill, even though many members of the public and other committee members wished to speak.”
