District of Columbia Federal Judge Rosemary Collyer has ruled the Obama administration is unconstitutionally spending money to reimburse health insurers without first having obtained appropriation from Congress.

While the United States Constitution says, “No money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law,” the Obama administration has continued to pay billions of dollars to health insurance companies for the extra cost of covering low-income people – The costs amount to approximately $175 billion over 10 years.

This issue will be appealed.
