New England Patriots player Rob Gronkowski, or Gronk as he is better known, made a surprising guest appearance inside a wrestling ring this past week. His big moment came during the Andre the Giant Battle Royal at WWE’s WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, Florida. WrestleMania is the largest wrestling event in the world that takes place every year. Gronk was standing in the front row when wrestler Jinder Mahal took his cup, drank from it, and then threw it at Gronk’s shoulder.
Gronk didn’t take the disrespect by Mahal kindly and got into the wrestling ring to confront him. Gronk’s football skills came into play when he entered the wrestling ring and got into a three point stance. Gronk caught Mahal, who was distracted, with a vicious shoulder block that knocked Mahal down to the mat. At a height of 6’6” and a weight of roughly 265 pounds, Gronk’s large frame definitely added some force to the hit. Gronk has a potential future as a wrestler when he decides to retire from playing professional football.
